Character & Leadership Development

Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Club member can receive. The title recognizes outstanding contributions to a member’s family, school, community and the Club as well as academic achievement and overcoming life obstacles.

The Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County has had four North Carolina State Youth of the Year winners in the past five years. In 2008, our Felicia Arriaga went on to win the Southeast Region Youth of the Year and competed in Washington, DC for the National Title.
