Get Elevated at Climbin’ the Chimney March 2
CHIMNEY ROCK, N.C. (February 20, 2013)—Chimney Rock’s dramatic mountain scenery draws hundreds of thousands of hikers and sightseers from around the world every year, but far fewer have experienced the thrill of rock climbing hundreds of feet above Hickory Nut Gorge on these majestic rock cliffs. Climbin’ the Chimney on March 2 is an opportunity to get elevated in a new way—on a rope. From 11am-3pm, get climbing at Chimney Rock with the Southeast’s leader in climbing education, Fox Mountain Guides.

Local club selected as finalist in national volunteerism contest
(November 28, 2012 – Hendersonville, NC) - The Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County has been selected as one of 12 finalists in the national Kids Give Back Contest, spearheaded by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The contest champions Boys & Girls Clubs that excel in volunteerism and community service, with the winner receiving a $2,500 grant.

Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County in need of new toy donations for “Santa’s Workshop”
(November 26, 2012 – Hendersonville, NC) – Now through December 17th, the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County is seeking donations of new, unwrapped toys for deserving children ages 6-11. The toys will be distributed to children in need through the club’s annual holiday gift program, "Santa’s Workshop.”
